Interface Setup

  1. Download and install apt-get for your version of redhat from: http://apt.freshrpms.net. As the root (administrator) user, at the command prompt, type: apt-get update
  2. Use apt to download mplayer: apt-get install mplayer (After this step, you no longer need to be the root user.)
  3. Run the graphical version of mplayer: gmplayer
  4. Right-click in the gmplayer window and select open URL. Then paste the link from the byutv web site. Or run it all from the command line: mplayer -playlist http://www.byutv.org/streaming/byutv.asx

Notes

MPlayer can also play quicktime sorenson movies and even handle realplayer streams. MPlayer works on all linux platforms. Non-redhat users should visit http://mplayerhq.hu for more information.
