Relative Race season 2 premieres March 5th on BYUtv, and to kick things off we want you to come meet a few of the teams right here in Salt Lake City. Host Dan J. Debenham, Black Team’s Joe Greer, and the Williams from the Blue Team will be at this year’s RootsTech conference for Relative Race's "Mixing Reality TV and Genealogy" panel. Attendees will get to watch an exclusive sneak peek of the upcoming season and participate in a question-and-answer panel with the teams.

The panel will be held Saturday, February 11, from 1:30-2:30 PM in Room 251D of the Salt Palace Convention Center during RootsTech. In addition to the season 2 preview and panel, there will also be a giveaway of four $100 Visa gift cards and the chance to apply to be on Relative Race Season 3.

RootsTech is known as the world’s largest genealogy convention. From novice researchers to professional genealogists, there is something for everyone. The conference will be held over several days from February 8-11. Other featured speakers include Drew and Jonathan Scott, known as “The Property Brothers” from their popular TV show, Buddy “Cake Boss” Valastro, and dozens of other expert genealogists.

BYUtv Event Coordinator Stevi Ginolfi is particularly excited about the conference. “This is a great opportunity to meet the cast and get more in-depth about the experience behind the camera.” When asked what she was most excited about for Relative Race season 2, she raved, “The stories are amazing this season and will simply blow your mind. Season 1 was great, and season 2 is even better.”

As previously mentioned, two of the teams will be on the panel at RootsTechTeam Black and Team Blue. Joe of the Black Team works as a media director and professional photographer out of Portland, and he brings a unique perspective on his genealogy that has a lot of unknowns. The Williams (Blue Team), were first seen on Relative Race in season 1 as relatives of the winning Red Team. This time they are back to compete and find family of their own. We are excited to be a part of this year’s RootsTech, and can’t wait to see you on February 11.
