It's probably fair to assume that most of society looks at missionaries of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with a certain degree of curiosity. Who are they? Where do they come from? What are they doing? While the young men and women with black name tags fill the world with the message of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ, most people who see them still don't grasp the full meaning of their service beyond what they've read in the paper or online (or seen on Broadway).

The District, premiering on BYUtv this Sunday, October 7, at 8:30pm ET/6:30pm MT, is the first reality series on television that follows the lives of real LDS missionaries. In this unscripted, actor-less documentary series, you'll meet eight young men and women who serve LDS missions in San Diego, California. You'll also meet the diverse characters they come across each day, from hospitable investigators to hostile passersby.

The new series is authentic and lively, so be sure to watch on Sunday evenings this fall on BYUtv. And why not share the YouTube video above with someone who may not know much about LDS missionaries or the Church? As the "Mormon Moment" unfolds across the world, you never know whose door the missionaries will knock on next…
