One of my dad’s favorite things is sharing his childhood favorites with his children. My siblings and I have sat through hours of The Brady Bunch and The Partridge Family, and we have spent our fair share of time playing with an Easy Show Projector and listening to Bill Cosby records—and we loved all of it. The times we spent laughing over Marcia Brady’s hair styles and the way that the Easy Show Projector stands up to the iPod Touch are some of my favorite memories.
One evening, in an attempt to share more of his childhood, my dad came home from the library armed with the Dexter Riley trilogy, a series of Disney movies starring Kurt Russell. We loved watching Dexter compete at the academic competition, win the strength championship and play pranks as an invisible man. We ended up watching The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes so many times that dad went out and bought the VHS (a piece of my childhood that I will have to share with my children).
So, here’s the good news. This month on BYUtv, the Dexter Riley trilogy is coming to you in our three-day Kurt Russell tribute. On February 26, 27 and 28, gather your family to experience these Disney classics!
