AUDIO-FILES is an original BYUtv documentary series that explores the dramatic careers of rock and indie musicians, taking you behind the scenes of private recording sessions and sold-out concerts. The show has highlighted many musicians since it premiered last spring, and we take a look now at where some of their careers have led since we last met.
The series premiere of AUDIO-FILES in April 2012 featured the band Imagine Dragons, and their story in the last several months is probably the most thrilling. Since their episode aired less than a year ago, Imagine Dragon's hit single "It's Time" was certified platinum and its music video was nominated for an MTV Video Music Award. "It's Time" holds the record for the longest running single on the 2012 Alternative Top 10 charts. The band's debut album, Night Visions, opened to No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart in September, the highest charting for a debut rock album since 2006. The album has so far produced two Top 40 singles in the US, the UK, Canada, Germany, Belgium, Sweden and Switzerland. Imagine Dragons' second single, "Radioactive", reached No. 1 on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart, and has been certified gold in the US.
In addition to both fan and critical praise, Imagine Dragons has appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and Conan. The band will perform on The Late Show with David Letterman on Friday, February 22. All scheduled Imagine Dragons concerts in North America are sold out.
Imagine Dragons' music has also been featured in numerous films, television shows, commercials and movie trailers since their AUDIO-FILES episode premiered last April. To watch the episode, click here.
