This show will provide the audience with an understanding of what learning is and how we do it. We have examples of different styles and will demonstrate how to best accommodate these styles in learning situations. Watch the discussion of how our cultural context affects our learning process. Understanding learning styles and the various influences on our learning experience can improve our own learning abilities. In addition, we will discuss how to meet the learning needs of people with handicaps, autism, ADD, and other learning disabilities.

This episode will provide practical information on learning how to read and write. We will discuss the common barriers to literacy as well as the helpful methods for overcoming those barriers. We will explain how basic reading and writing skills are taught in a community-based literacy program. We will also discuss techniques for teaching children how to read in the home as well as suggest basic criteria for selecting appropriate reading material for children.
